The AmerisourceBergen Foundation Hosts Global Nonprofit Conference

At the fourth annual conference, the AB Foundation brought together nearly 50 non-profit partners to collaborate and amplify their impact to create healthier futures by increasing access to healthcare

Conshohocken, Pa (October 27, 2022) Recently, the AmerisourceBergen Foundation, an independent not-for-profit charitable giving organization focused on supporting health-related causes that enrich the global community, convened nearly 50 nonprofit partners and peers for its fourth annual Grantee & Nonprofit Partner Conference. The two-day event helped to further facilitate collaboration, best-practice sharing, and discussions about how to improve and impact the quality, equity, and access to healthcare for global change.

“Since the establishment of the AB Foundation, we have sought to deepen our impact and investments in alignment with our purpose of creating healthier futures while addressing some of the world’s most pressing issues. However, none of it would be possible without the dedication, passion and collaboration of our nonprofit partners,” said Gina Clark, President of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation. “We are humbled and fortunate for the opportunity to bring together so many impactful organizations to understand how together we can shape the future of healthcare for generations to come. The opportunity for further conversation and connectivity allows us to provide even greater support for the people, animals, and communities we serve – ultimately driving a sustainable, global impact.”

During the conference, attendees participated in discussions focused on enriching the health of global communities. Leaders from nonprofit partners such as the CDC Foundation spoke to the importance of tapping into the power of policy and partnerships at large to make an impact on communities, and the opportunity to build trust on a local-level by listening with intention, collaborating and co-designing programs with fellow community-organizations and businesses. The conference also facilitated an open and transparent discussion about the disparities that existed across healthcare, as well as solutions to increase access to healthcare and to prevent, treat and find essential care for all.

The conference concluded with a candid panel discussion between several nonprofit partners, Not One More Vet, CADCA, Nurse-Family Partnership, and K9 Partners for Patriots, about breaking down the stigma of mental health and how to work collectively to address and enact change. Panelists recounted the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic had on the increase in mental health-related incidents and the urgency people must now have to eliminate the problem and ultimately give people an opportunity to have healthier futures. The panel aligned particularly well with AB Foundation’s focus on expanding and implementing behavioral health programming, supporting mental health first aid, and creating healthier futures for all.
