AmerisourceBergen Launches Universal RFID-Tagging & Mobile App For Its Acute Care Medication Tray Solution
Conshohocken, Pa. (October 12, 2021) – In an effort to advance inventory management technologies for acute care settings across the United States, global healthcare company AmerisourceBergen today announced updates to its medication tray solution. Specifically, the addition of universal RAIN radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags on medication, which enables health systems to manage and monitor inventory with consistent ease and accuracy. In addition to universal tagging, AmerisourceBergen is now rolling out a mobile application to complement its medication tray solution, allowing users to scan products from anywhere within the health system without the need for additional equipment.

Adhering to this standard means any tagged product, whether originating from a manufacturer, another pharmacy or another solution provider can be immediately read and utilized by the solution.
