Wholesale pharmaceutical distribution and services company AmerisourceBergen Corp. completed its $815 million purchase of H.D. Smith. “The acquisition strengthens our core business and expands and enhances our strategic scale in U.S. pharmaceutical distribution,” said Steven H. Collis, chairman and CEO of AmerisourceBergen, when the deal was first announcedin December. “This acquisition also expands our support for independent community pharmacies.“
