World Courier Bolsters Global Presence with New Offices and Enhanced Capabilities

LONDON – World Courier, a global leader in specialty logistics and a part of AmerisourceBergen, announced today that it recently opened four new offices in strategic markets worldwide. The new offices, coupled with enhanced service capabilities network-wide – like industry-leading quality management standards and the development of personalized supply chain teams to support key specialty segments – better position the company to meet its customers’ evolving needs.

The offices, in part, enable the company to meet the growing demand for specialty services like time- and temperature-controlled transport and provide World Courier with greater visibility into the local market regulations and operational environments. The offices are located in:

  • Chengdu, China
  • Manila, Philippines
  • Vilnius, Lithuania
  • Belgrade, Serbia

“With the increased globalization of biopharmaceutical supply chains, we recognize the demand for a logistics partner that not only delivers best-in-class specialty logistics services but also offers local, in-market expertise and resources,” World Courier President Sam Herbert said. “Our new offices, located in key markets in Asia and Europe, will enable us to build relationships with local customs and regulatory authorities and better position us to serve our customers’ unique needs, such as the growing demand for temperature control solutions.”

In addition to the new offices, World Courier is expanding its facilities in Feltham, U.K., and Boston, U.S. The facility expansions and new offices will increase the company’s global presence and its worldwide network, which is comprised of 140-plus company offices that span more than 50 countries. In January, World Courier announced it achieved Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification across its global network of offices. It is the first logistics company to attain GDP certification against three major GDP standards with international implications.

World Courier also unveiled the creation of its international personalized supply chain teams that support three specialty areas: direct-to-patient, cell and gene therapy and clinical trials execution. These technical experts will work directly with World Courier’s customers, offering a combination of project management and customer service expertise to deliver a customized service tailored to their specific requirements and, ultimately, connect patients with the vital treatments they need.

“As our industry changes, we continue to evolve – through investments and innovation – to meet the demands of today’s patients,” Herbert said. “Whether it is adding new offices to increase our global presence or adopting innovative technologies to address unmet needs, we pursue opportunities that enable us to optimize the supply chain for our customers and strengthen our position as a best-in-class specialty logistics provider.”
