US Bioservices Awarded Home Care Accreditation From The Joint Commission
Valley Forge, Pa. – US
Bioservices, an independent specialty pharmacy and part of AmerisourceBergen,
today announced that it has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Home Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance
with its performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a
symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe
and effective care. All of US Bioservices’ dispensing locations have received
this accreditation.
“Back
in 1994, we began as a regional pharmacy that focused on in-home infusion
therapies, and home care remains an essential part of our clinical programs,” said
DeAndra Jones, RPh, MBA, Director of Accreditation, Regulatory Affairs and
Quality at US Bioservices. “This accreditation illustrates our continued
commitment to the level of care we provide in the home, and we greatly value
The Joint Commission’s acknowledgement of our program.”
US
Bioservices dispenses oral, injectable and infused specialty medications to
patients in all 50 states and U.S. territories. As a nationwide provider of
home infusion services, US Bioservices’ team of registered nurses deliver
patient clinical training and infusions in the convenience of patients’ homes.
Offering personalized care, US Bioservices’ dedicated nurses are trained in
infusion therapy, ensuring comprehensive clinical support.
US
Bioservices underwent a rigorous onsite survey during which compliance with
home care standards was evaluated. This evaluation included a review of
provision of care, treatment and services, emergency management, human
resources, individual rights and responsibilities, and leadership. The
accreditation process also provided US Bioservices with education and guidance
to help staff continue to improve its home care program’s performance.
Established
in 1988, The Joint Commission’s Home Care Accreditation Program supports the
efforts of its accredited organizations to help deliver safe, high quality care
and services. More than 6,000 home care programs currently maintain
accreditation, awarded for a three-year period, from The
Joint Commission. The Joint Commission’s home care standards are developed in
consultation with health care experts, home care providers and researchers, as
well as industry experts, purchasers and consumers. The standards are informed
by scientific literature and expert consensus to help organizations measure, assess
and improve performance.
As
a part of health care solutions leader AmerisourceBergen, US Bioservices offers
the clinical expertise and excellent patient care expected from an independent
specialty pharmacy, combined with the stability and infrastructure of a global
organization.
