Good Neighbor Pharmacy Receives "Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Chain Drug Store Pharmacies" from J.D. Power

VALLEY FORGE, Pa. – Today, Good Neighbor Pharmacy – a national independent pharmacy network offered through AmerisourceBergen – announced that it has been ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Chain Drug Store Pharmacies” in the J.D. Power 2018 U.S. Pharmacy Study. This marks the seventh time that Good Neighbor Pharmacy has earned the achievement in the last nine years.

“The key trends highlighted in this study confirm what we see on a daily basis: consumers love their community pharmacies and value the patient-centric health and wellness services that they provide,” said Brian Nightengale, President of Good Neighbor Pharmacy and SVP, Community & Specialty Pharmacy, AmerisourceBergen. “At AmerisourceBergen and Good Neighbor Pharmacy, we’re confident that independent community pharmacists will continue to expand their role and pharmacies will evolve to meet their communities’ unique and growing needs. That is why we continue to increase our investments and augment our programs to help independent pharmacies thrive today and in the future.”

This year, Good Neighbor Pharmacy ranked the highest in overall satisfaction among brick-and-mortar chain drug stores. Good Neighbor Pharmacy received a score of 903 while the average was 846. Additionally, Good Neighbor Pharmacy received a 5, the highest rating, in the J.D.Power.com Power Circle Ratings. Power Circle Ratings are one of the only sources of consumer ratings based on independent and unbiased feedback from a representative sample of verified product and service owners. Good Neighbor Pharmacy achieved the highest scores within the Chain Drug Stores segment across all five rating factors.

The recognition comes just two months after AmerisourceBergen leaders unveiled how Good Neighbor Pharmacy is simplifying its program structure. The streamlined approach, which was informed by research and Good Neighbor Pharmacy member feedback, makes it easier for customers to access and navigate programs and solutions. The company’s programs are now organized within four value centers: In-store Experience, Marketing, Managed Care and Business Performance.

“At Good Neighbor Pharmacy, we work with owners to strengthen every part of their pharmacy,” said Jennifer Zilka, Group Vice President of Field Programs & Services, Good Neighbor Pharmacy. “Our goal is to simplify our members’ business operations, amplify their brands and maximize their profitability, which will ultimately protect their independence. Through our programs, we want to make sure that our pharmacies are standing out as one-of-a-kind healthcare destinations within their communities and setting themselves up for success for years to come.”

The U.S. Pharmacy Study, now in its tenth year, measures customer satisfaction with brick-and-mortar and mail order pharmacies. The 2018 study is based on responses from 10,749 pharmacy customers who filled a prescription during the three months prior to the survey period of May-June 2018.
