AmerisourceBergen Named a 2020 DiversityInc Noteworthy Company for Four Consecutive Years

Valley Forge, Pa. – AmerisourceBergen has been named a 2020 DiversityInc Noteworthy Company for the fourth consecutive year. The DiversityInc Top 50 list, issued yearly since 2001, is the gold standard in the U.S. for ranking companies for diversity, equity and inclusion. The companies on this list excel in areas as hiring, retaining and promoting women, minorities, people with disabilities, LGBT and veterans.

“We are proud of our purpose-driven culture and the strength a diverse and inclusive workforce enables in delivering on our commitments to healthcare,” said Silvana Battaglia, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “We're committed to growing, learning and shaping our approach to D&I for the betterment of our workforce and the communities we serve, today and tomorrow.”

With a workforce that is 56% female, an executive management committee with 43% female representation and 46% of individuals in the U.S. who disclosed as people of color, AmerisourceBergen takes great pride in continuing efforts to ensure diverse perspectives at all levels.  In 2019, AmerisourceBergen expanded its parental leave policy, implemented gender transition guidelines and enhanced wellbeing programs. In addition, the company strengthened its Employee Resource Groups and facilitated dialogue to address important topics in the areas of race, microaggressions and LGBTQ inclusion.

To empower associates to give back to the causes that matter most to them, the AmerisourceBergen Foundation launched myCommunityImpact, a matching gifts and dollars-for-doers program. AmerisourceBergen’s 2019 Corporate Citizenship Report details the company’s commitment to inspired associates, sustainable operations and healthy communities.

DiversityInc’s extensive annual survey yields an empirically driven ranking based on talent results in the workforce and management, senior leadership accountability, talent programs, workplace practices, philanthropy and supplier diversity. This year’s competition was improved by adding questions that connect talent programs and workplace practices to desired talent results. The Top 50 analysis also addressed the intersectionality of race by analyzing women and men representation of each race/ethnicity separately, rather than combined.
