AmerisourceBergen General Counsel Named Among Most Influential Minority Attorneys in the Nation

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA – John G. Chou, executive vice president and general counsel of AmerisourceBergen, has been named to the Lawyers of Color’s Fourth Annual Power List. The list recognizes the nation’s most influential minority attorneys and non-minority diversity advocates.

A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Chou joined AmerisourceBergen, a global healthcare solutions leader, in 2002 as associate general counsel and has been general counsel since 2007. In his current role, Chou leads the legal function while providing advice on global company strategies and implementation, including acquisition and complex partnerships. He was previously a partner with the Philadelphia-based law firm Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott and held senior legal positions with CIGNA Corporation and ARCO Chemical Company.

A profile of Chou will appear in the Lawyers of Color’s 2015 Power Issue. In addition to this recognition, he is a 2014 recipient of the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund’s Justice in Action Award. He also has been a past president of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania and is a current member of the board of directors of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
