Supplier diversity
Improving our communities by supporting small and diverse businesses
Through our supplier diversity program, we’ve been able to connect with more than 1,500 companies that are certified as small business enterprises, small businesses in underutilized areas, and companies where the ownership is mostly:
- Minorities
- Women
- People with disabilities
- Veterans
- LGBTQ+
Working with these diverse suppliers helps us source the highest quality products and services at the most competitive prices, but to us it’s much more than that. Our commitment to supplier diversity comes straight from the top of our organization and it’s integrated throughout all of our applicable businesses. And through our growing program, we’re able to directly support companies that are addressing the unique needs of underserved communities and fuel innovation where it’s needed most.
Our $1.8 billion in spend with diverse and small suppliers in our 2022 fiscal year generated significant economic activity in our supply chain and the communities we serve.

Led by CEO Sue Chen, NOVA’s mission is to provide and service superior-quality products with great function and fashion for physically challenged people so they can live a healthy, independent, and beautiful lifestyle.
Sue immigrated to the U.S. from Taiwan with her parents in the 1970s. She launched NOVA in 1993 as a way to carry on the legacy of her father, who was a leader in rehabilitative care. Within a year of opening her small business, Sue received her largest order to date from a company by the name of Bergen Brunswig. Our relationship with NOVA has been thriving ever since. We continue to be their largest partner and we’re proud to have helped them expand into more than 4,500 locations.
