New Product Placement
AmerisourceBergen offers the capability to automatically deliver new products to thousands of retail pharmacies through the New Product Placement (NPP) program at the time of launch. Further, there is the potential to add even more stores through AmerisourceBergen’s chain retail customers. The Corporate Brand Pharmaceutical team reviews and selects products for NPP. NPP is reserved for significant new product launches, focusing in on new chemical entities, new technologies and products with the potential to reach over $100 million in their first year annual sales.
The benefit to the manufacturer is distribution to NPP retail pharmacies within 48 to 72 hours after receipt in a distribution center. This helps ensure that there is product in stock at the retail pharmacy when the prescription is first presented. This process is implemented through a seamless EDI environment.
Special dating, discounts and a guarantee of sale are also included as part of this program.
